Key officials overseeing Russia’s energy and natural resources policy participated in recent intergovernmental talks with North Korea in Moscow, NK News analysis has revealed, suggesting that the meeting focused on preparing to expand cooperation in these fields.

The Russia-DPRK intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation held a meeting at Moscow’s President Hotel on Nov. 27, which the Russian side said covered joint education, tourism, aviation and border construction ventures.

Moscow did not provide a full list of participants or concrete details about agreements reached at the meeting, which was led by commission co-chairs Alexander Kozlov and Yun Jong Ho.
