For the first time since 2012, North Korean media has released some economy-wide output figures. Usually, we get figures for particular industries (likely cherry-picked for their boast-worthy performance) and/or specific periods (months or quarters).
Sometimes they throw in some actual production numbers rather than percentages for particular industrial enterprises. But don’t expect to see total figures for entire industries — that stuff is generally treated as a state secret and has been since the mid-1960s.
Often we just get praise for things recently past and rhetoric for the future, with figures few and far between.
