After years of pandemic closures, North Korea has finally started to move toward a broader reopening to foreign tourists, albeit in fits and starts. 

Russian travelers have been visiting the DPRK since last year, and authorities briefly experimented with allowing tourists from other countries to sightsee in the remote city of Rason last month. Pyongyang will also host an international marathon in early April for the first time since 2019, and the sprawling Wonsan Kalma resort is scheduled to open in June.
