A North Korean oil tanker currently under U.S. sanctions appeared in the Russian Far East on Tuesday, its first advertised voyage outside of DPRK waters in nearly a year.

The 1205-tonne tanker now called the Un Pha 2 (though formerly known as Kum Gang 3) did not broadcast its point of origin but began signaling its location as it approached the Russian city of Vladivostok at around 6 am (UTC).
