A company recently sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Treasury for its involvement with illicit North Korean trade operates a fleet of vessels which regularly do business in South Korea and Japan, NK Pro can reveal.

Washington’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added the Hong Kong-based outfit to its blacklist along with several other companies operating outside the DPRK’s borders on February 23.

The accompanying press release did not specifically mention the reasons behind Liberty’s designation, though it was grouped with other companies helping North Korea move coal or oil in
