News North Korean textile imports continue to rise ahead of UN banUN resolutions allow some trade to continue for 90 days after sanctions adoption North Korean exports of textile products to neighboring China continued to climb in September, hitting yearly highs amid a new UN resolution against the DPRK which bans the trade. Recently released figures from China’s General Administration of Customs and compiled by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) show the DPRK earned USD$63 million from textiles in September. The figure was USD$2 million higher than August’s total and marked a continuing trend of increasing textile shipments, up from USD$32 million in January.
