North Korean cybercriminals have exploited a zero-day vulnerability in Microsoft Windows to gain access to sensitive data, potentially allowing them to target priority targets such as cryptocurrency and aerospace firms.

The Lazarus Group, known to target professionals in strategic industries, exploited the hidden flaw to bypass security restrictions and access protected system areas, cybersecurity software company Gen Digital stated in a press release on Friday.
