North Koreans officials outlined further plans for the Rason Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in a presentation given to potential Chinese investors in August.

The presentation’s slides show a detailed proposal to expand the area into an economic trade zone in cooperation with Chinese investors and Beijing’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative.

The plans were outlined by Rason’s Chinese-Korean Joint Management Committee and were presented during an investors forum at the annual Rason Trade Fair.
