News North Korean revenues from Chinese trade at lowest level in eight yearsTrend continues downward spiral as UN sanctions appear to take effect North Korea’s revenues from trade with China fell to their lowest levels for eight years in January, continuing a trend that began last year in the wake of successive rounds of UN Security Council (UNSC) sanctions. The figures, provided by China’s customs agency and collated by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), put the DPRK’s total January earnings from exports at USD$36,410,820, a more than 80 percent reduction compared to the same month in 2017.
