Banners and slogans posted on streets, at workplaces and in fields throughout North Korea are updated on a regular basis to inform local citizens of emerging national objectives and important political events.

As such, the banners and slogans provide insight into North Korea’s domestic political propaganda and a sense for what are the current priorities on both macro and micro levels.

Between 2016-2017 these messages encouraged North Koreans to contribute towards 200-day labor battles and assist on flood rehabilitation efforts in the northeast, as well as focusing on the North’s seventh party congress
