A photograph and video obtained by NK Pro show what appears to be a freight train moving between the Chinese and North Korean cities of Dandong and Sinuiju.

The imagery, taken at night, shows four open carriages covered by a blue tarpaulin, making it difficult to ascertain the type of cargo being transferred across the bridge linking the two countries.

An informed Dandong-based source told NK Pro that such nighttime train journeys were not a common occurrence.

“(It’s the) first time I’ve ever seen a train cross the bridge at night
