Analysis Former inmate shows location of North Korean detention centerCompound dedicated to detention of foreign political prisoners, used previously to detain American journalists Willem van der Bijl, a stamp collector from the Netherlands, was arrested and detained in North Korea in 2011. Though he has previously given interviews – including to NK News in 2012 – and talked about his experiences in North Korea both before and during his detention, he has recently revealed to Voice of America the location of the detention center in Pyongyang where he was held in 2011. Van der Bijl visited North Korea 24 times before being arrested.
