News China, Russia continue oil shipments to North Korea: UNAccuracy of the data remains a concern, however, given recent leaked figures China maintained its oil product exports to North Korea in June, newly published UN figures show, while Russia also continued shipments to the DPRK throughout April and May. The data comes from the UN 1718 Committee’s website, which tracks member state exports of crude and refined oil products to the DPRK in accordance with Resolution 2397 passed in December last year. The UN’s measures don’t mandate a complete embargo, though do place caps on the oil products and reporting requirements on the exporters.
