Several North Korean cargo ships headed back to the DPRK from Chinese bulk handling ports this week, in what could be their last runs carrying soon to be prohibited commodities.

UN Resolution 2371, approved by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on August 5, gives member states 30 days to implement strict regulations governing the import of numerous DPRK metals and minerals.

“All States may allow those shipments to be imported into their territories up to 30 days from the date of adoption of this resolution,” paragraph nine of the resolution reads.
