North Korea’s trash balloon launches have tapered off in recent weeks, but that hasn’t stopped some in South Korea from floating how best to respond to the next barrage — including through the use of military force.

In an interview with local media over the weekend, ruling party lawmaker Sung Il-jong claimed the ROK military could carry out strikes against DPRK balloon launches.
