North Korea successfully launched its new military reconnaissance satellite into orbit in November, following two failed attempts in May and August this year.

DPRK state media reported that leader Kim Jong Un viewed images taken by the satellite, including U.S. military bases in the Pacific, the White House and the Pentagon. However, state media has yet to publish any of this imagery.

Shortly after the launch, South Korea announced that it would partially suspend the Comprehensive Military Agreement (CMA) signed with Kim under the previous Moon Jae-in administration. Pyongyang then announced that it had
