North Korean state media highlighted upcoming festivities to mark the 75th founding anniversary of the country, which falls this weekend. The country has concerts, exhibitions and a paramilitary parade planned while Kim Jong Un is said to have received congratulatory messages and flowers from numerous foreign leaders. 

On Thursday morning, state media reported that Vice Premier Liu Guozhong will lead a delegation to Pyongyang for the festivities. Liu’s portfolio includes economics and agriculture, suggesting he will discuss future cooperation in these areas with his North Korean counterparts and perhaps even the leader himself.
