North Korea introduced two new military drones last month — the Morning Star-4 reconnaissance drone and the Morning Star-9 multi-purpose attack drone — and in the process took a step toward its ambition of deploying unmanned aerial warfare capabilities.

But what stood out the most about the Morning Star-4 and Morning Star-9 were their striking resemblance to the U.S.-made RQ-4 Global Hawk and MQ-9 Reaper, respectively, raising questions about the origins of the DPRK’s new advanced drones.
