A North Korean state-run company is displaying and possibly selling brand new Chinese electric cars at a self-branded showroom that recently opened on a new skyscraper street in Pyongyang.

At least five consumer electric vehicles manufactured since 2021 by China’s BYD Auto are on display at the new Madusan Economic Federation Electric Car Showroom on Hwasong Street, according to a video published by the state media-affiliated “@Parama_Coreafan” Twitter page on May 18.

The delivery of the vehicles from China appears to represent one of the more brazen violations by both countries of U.N. Security
