North Korea’s illicit cyber activities finance half of its missile development, a senior U.S. cybersecurity official said Wednesday, up from last year’s estimate of one-third.

“The North Koreans are funding … half of their missile program by crypto heists and cyber efforts,” Anne Neuberger, deputy national security adviser for cyber and emerging technology, said at a forum organized by the nonprofit Special Competitive Studies Project.
