The North Korean hacking syndicate Lazarus Group orchestrated a $620 million heist from a blockchain-based video game last month, the top U.S. law enforcement agency said on Thursday.

In an official statement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) linked the DPRK to an attack last month on Axie Infinity, a blockchain-based video game where players raise and battle Pokemon-like creatures. The game’s developer Sky Mavis previously disclosed that hackers had lifted hundreds of millions of dollars worth of ethereum from the game’s backend systems.
