North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) revised its rules in January this year, with potentially major implications for how the country will be run in the future.

Kim Jong Un’s name is nowhere to be seen in the WPK rules anymore, while a new “First Secretary” position is created — a possible number two for the North Korean leader. The WPK rules also changed phrasing on inter-Korean unification and the country’s stated positions on Japan and the U.S. as well.[/p
