News North Korea may be relaxing border controls as Chinese exports riseTrade with China jumped significantly in April, but still far below pre-pandemic levels China’s exports to North Korea in April more than doubled compared to the previous month, according to Chinese customs data. For the month of April, China’s General Administration of Customs reported a total China-DPRK trade volume of $30.6 million, with Chinese exports to North Korea making up $28.8 million. The newly released data shows a continuing uptick in trade between China and North Korea since the previous month, when Chinese exports jumped from $3,000 in February to about $13 million in March.
