Irish aid organization Concern Worldwide this week was granted their third humanitarian sanctions exemption since early 2019 to carry out long-term projects in North Korea, the website for the UN 1718 Sanctions Committee revealed Thursday.

Items otherwise prohibited from export to North Korea, such as metal construction components and machinery for use in food processing and crop production, were approved for shipment within the next six months.

A letter dated April 1 sent to the Irish Mission to the UN, which represented Concern Worldwide, said the exemption would facilitate three projects consisting of over 224,000 euros worth of items
