News Chinese oil shipments to North Korea remain low in FebruaryThough exports above average when combined with Russian supplies China’s reported shipments of oil products to North Korea remained low in February, according to figures provided by Beijing to the UN’s 1718 Committee. Total oil product exports to the DPRK were 691 tonnes in February, a slight increase from January lows, though still well below pre-sanctions levels and Russia’s own reported petroleum exports to North Korea. The exports are also at odds with reported shipments during the same month last year, when China appeared to be supplying relatively large volumes of refined products to the DPRK.
