News Chinese owned, North Korean ship leaves Shanghai after loitering near the coastForeign companies and individuals are prohibited from operating DPRK flagged vessels by UN resolutions A North Korean cargo ship owned by a Chinese company left Chinese coastal waters after loitering near Shanghai for nearly two weeks, the NK Pro ship tracker shows. UN resolutions currently prohibit non-DPRK companies from operating North Korean flagged vessels, but according to the International Maritime Organization, the 5133-tonne Northern Luck is owned by Dalian Longgang Shipping. “All States shall prohibit their nationals, persons subject to their jurisdiction and entities incorporated in their territory or subject to their jurisdiction from registering vessels in the DPRK,” paragraph 20 of Resolution 2270 reads.
