Russia exported fuels to North Korea valued at over USD$1 million in August, recently published trade figures reveal, an increase on the previous month when shipments fell to the lowest level in months.

The numbers provided by Russian customs and published by the ITC trade map show the August fuel shipments were valued at USD$1.07 million, up from just USD$216,000 in July.

The increase roughly tallied with a corresponding jump in figures to provided to the UN, although those numbers are measured by volume, not in value terms.

But unlike the numbers published
