North Korean trade with China remained heavily lopsided in June, figures from Beijing’s General Administration of Customs show, with the DPRK continuing its large deficit with its neighbor.

But DPRK demand for Chinese goods also swelled to levels not seen since last year, despite the reported trickle of funds from North Korea’s own shipments to its neighbor.

Although Beijing has cut access to its detailed trade numbers and stopped providing the breakdowns to traders and organizations like the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), it still publishes overall monthly trade totals.
