North Korean imports of cereals continued to fall in October, Chinese trade figures show, reversing a trend which saw relatively high shipments on the back of a drought through the summer months.

The most recent figures released by China’s General Administration of Customs collated by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) show the North’s cereal imports dropping to $653,744 in value in October from more than double the previous month.

The imports were a steep decline from yearly highs of over $10 million in July, though historical figures show a portion of the decrease may
