North Korean leadership activity in March was relatively reserved compared to previous months. Kim made fewer appearances and was accompanied by fewer elite officials than in most months since becoming Supreme Leader of the DPRK. In addition to fewer appearances and fewer elites, the agenda of Kim’s public appearances covered a very limited subject matter, with a majority focus on military affairs and fishing. Meanwhile, the appearance profiles of several top elites are continually evolving, with some rising in prominence and others out of sight for extended periods.
