President-elect Donald Trump unexpectedly nominated ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State on Monday, in a move that sees Trump continue his pattern of filing his future cabinet with high-ranking – and controversial – figures from the world of American business.

But the oil executive’s selection will do little for North Korean watchers and pundits looking to glean insights on future DPRK policies from Trump’s cabinet selection. Tillerson has little political experience and no apparent public stance on the North, and the ExxonMobil chief joined the company out of college and has worked there for 41 years
