Ten North Korean crew members left the Mu Du Bong over the weekend and have yet to return, prompting speculation in Mexican media that they have been repatriated.

The DRPK vessel is currently stranded in Tuxpan Port on Mexico’s east coast after running aground nearly a year ago. The crew remained on the vessel awaiting a decision from Mexican authorities on whether or not to freeze the vessel, as part of UN sanctions against its owner, Ocean Maritime Management (OMM).

In April, Mexican media reported some of the crew members applied for humanitarian visas
