North Korea tests sea-to-surface cruise missile days after Trump overture

Pyongyang says weapons test designed to raise effectiveness of ‘strategic control’ against 'potential enemies’

North Korea fired multiple sea-to-surface strategic cruise missiles on Saturday, with leader Kim Jong Un personally supervising the launches in his first weapons demonstration since Donald Trump's U.S. presidential inauguration, according to state media.

The DPRK's Missile Administration carried out the test of what it described as “sea-(underwater-)to-surface strategic cruise guided weapons,” the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) and Rodong Sinmun reported on Sunday morning.
