Kim Jong Un appears to fear possible assassination, South Korean spy agency says

NIS cites increased security around North Korean leader, while assessing DPRK generals deployed to support Russia’s war

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appears to harbor concerns about the possibility of being assassinated, according to South Korea’s intelligence service, citing signs that the authoritarian ruler has ramped up security measures at his public appearances this year.

The National Intelligence Service (NIS) shared its assessment with lawmakers during the agency’s closed-doors National Assembly audit on Tuesday, stating that Pyongyang’s leadership has equipped vehicles with signal jammers and introduced drone detection equipment.
