DPRK hackers have attempted to infiltrate ministry and related organizations over 2,300 times this year, data shows

North Korean cyberattacks on South Korea’s unification ministry and associated inter-Korean organizations have almost doubled over the past two years, a South Korean lawmaker revealed on Tuesday.

Citing unification ministry data, Cha Jiho of the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) said in a press release that there were 2,313 North Korean cyberattack attempts targeting the ministry, the North Korean Refugees Foundation and the Inter-Korean Exchange and Cooperation Support Association in the first eight months of this year alone.
