North Korea-China trade falls in July as floods damage border infrastructure

Expert links third straight month of decline to DPRK’s ‘souring ties’ with China and logistical disruptions from floods

North Korean trade with China fell for a third consecutive month in July, with an expert assessing that devastating flooding at the end of the month may have disrupted exchange.

Bilateral trade dwindled to around $145 million in July, down from nearly $179 million in June and $181 million in May, China’s General Administration of Customs (GAC) reported on Sunday.
