North Korean crossed into South with help of ROK military, Seoul says

Authorities are investigating individual’s intention to defect, while reports say they crossed western maritime border

A North Korean has crossed the border into South Korea with the help of the ROK military, Seoul announced Thursday, with authorities currently investigating the individual’s intention to defect.

Local media have reported that the presumed defector crossed the maritime border in the Han River estuary on the west coast, citing military sources.
