Kim Jong Un slams ROK media over flood coverage and claims no deaths in Sinuiju

Leader’s remarks suggest DPRK will not accept aid offered by South Korea’s Red Cross

DPRK leader Kim Jong Un on Friday condemned South Korea’s “garbage media” and rejected claims that up to 1,500 have died in recent floods, claiming not a single death was recorded in Sinuiju.

Kim also said that one helicopter made an emergency landing during a rescue mission but that the pilots were safe, according to the Rodong Sinmun. ROK media had claimed multiple helicopter crashes occurred during flood recovery efforts.
