US blacklists Chinese nationals for supporting North Korean weapons programs

Treasury Department accuses six individuals and five companies of procuring missile and satellite parts for DPRK

The U.S. sanctioned six individuals and five entities based in China for supporting North Korea's weapons programs on Wednesday, revealing a network of companies that allegedly helped Pyongyang procure parts for ballistic missiles and satellites.

In a press release, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said the new sanctions build on its 2023 designation of Choe Chol Min, a Beijing-based representative of the DPRK’s Second Academy of Natural Sciences responsible for developing “advanced weapons systems.”
