North Korean trash balloon caught fire after landing on rooftop, Seoul says

South Korean military suggests timer attached to balloon caused fire amid concerns about dangers of DPRK launches

A North Korean trash balloon caught fire after landing on the roof of a residential building near Seoul on Wednesday, renewing concerns about the dangers that the DPRK’s launches pose to South Koreans.

The fire on top of a building in Gyeonggi Province reportedly did not cause any casualties and was extinguished after 25 minutes, and the South Korean military said the blaze was likely caused by a timer attached to the balloon.
