North Korea raises alarm about flood risks as monsoon rains lash peninsula

High waves, strong winds and up to 10 inches of rain forecast for some areas, putting crops and homes in danger

North Korea raised the alarm about the risk of flooding on Monday, as seasonal monsoon rains lashed the peninsula.

In a series of alerts starting from 9 a.m., state television warned of heavy rain, high waves and strong winds, classifying the warning as level two on its three-tier scale of weather advisories.
