Mine explosions have killed North Korean soldiers working on frontline: ROK

Seoul says military also fired warning shots toward DPRK workers who encroached on border on Tuesday morning

Multiple landmine explosions have maimed or killed North Korean soldiers clearing land and carrying out mine-related operations in frontline areas, the South Korean military said Tuesday, amid evidence that the DPRK is carrying out work inside the demilitarized zone (DMZ).

Over 20 North Korean soldiers apparently involved in such work also encroached on the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) that bisects the DMZ on Tuesday morning, leading the ROK military to fire warning shots and conduct warning broadcasts for the second time in recent weeks.
