A North Korean art festival scheduled for April will not feature any live performances by foreign participants this year, the DPRK’s culture ministry has told NK News, while a government official revealed that it could be two to three months before there is a full-fledged return to tourism.

The culture ministry’s website claims the 33rd biennial April Spring Friendship Art Festival will feature “international contest winners and other famous artists of authoritative art, acrobatic and dance troupes,” but an official told NK News by phone that international artists will not travel to Pyongyang and will instead participate by “sending in their video clips.”
