The U.S., South Korea and Japan held the first meeting of a new cybersecurity working group aimed at countering North Korea’s cyber threats, following up on an agreement between the three countries’ leaders earlier this year.

In the meeting in Tokyo on Thursday, the trilateral diplomatic working group emphasized the importance of working with each other and global partners to disrupt the illicit cyber operations used to fund Pyongyang’s “unlawful” nuclear and ballistic missile programs, the U.S. State Department said in a press release.
