North Korea scraps military deal with South, vows to deploy weapons to border

Pyongyang blames Seoul for move after South partially suspended military agreement to resume border area reconnaissance

North Korea says it has completely scrapped the 2018 inter-Korean Comprehensive Military Agreement (CMA) and will resume "all" related military activities following South Korea's partial suspension of the deal on Wednesday.

As a result the North Korean defense ministry said Thursday it “will forward deploy more powerful weapons and newer military equipment to the [border] area.”
