North Korea’s foreign ministry demanded that the U.N. Command (UNC) be “dissolved” on Monday, a day before the first-ever meeting between the defense ministers of South Korea and the multilateral coalition that upholds the Korean War armistice.

In the statement published by the Korean Central News Agency, the DPRK foreign ministry called the UNC a “U.S.-led multinational war tool” and criticized Tuesday’s scheduled meeting as a “dangerous scheme to ignite a new war of aggression” in the region.
