North Korea’s top newspaper ordered citizens to prioritize protecting propaganda statues, monuments and murals of the country’s leaders from an incoming typhoon on Thursday, despite stating that nothing is more important than “the safety of the people.” 

The Rodong Sinmun warned North Koreans to expect strong winds, heavy rains and even tsunamis in an article on page three, ordering government and regional officials to communicate typhoon and evacuation-related information to local populations.
