South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol named a prominent conservative thinker as his new point person on inter-Korean relations on Thursday, a nominee likely to face opposition due to his past statements calling for regime change in North Korea.

Kim Yung-ho, a professor of political science and diplomacy at Sungshin Women's University, pledged to work toward resolving the DPRK nuclear issue and establishing “a foundation for improving inter-Korean relations” following his nomination.
