North Korean leader Kim Jong Un kicked off a delayed ruling party plenum on Friday, focusing on the economy and the course of defense and diplomacy, according to state media.
The party-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper reported Saturday that the opening day of the meeting unanimously approved an agenda to review work of different economic sectors in the first half of 2023. Participants also agreed to discuss key policy matters including efforts to strengthen the party, state building and “state diplomacy and national defence strategy for coping with the changed international situation.”
