North Korea will never be a nuclear power and international sanctions must be fully implemented as long as its nuclear and ballistic missile programs exist, the world’s most powerful democracies have pledged in a new statement on nuclear disarmament.
The leaders of the Group of Seven delivered their condemnation of the DPRK’s nuclear program during their summit in Hiroshima on Saturday. The statement expands on several points that the groups’ foreign ministers first agreed to in 2016 in an effort to codify their “commitment to achieving a world without nuclear weapons with undiminished security for all.”
